Christmas is a comin’

Every year Rob’s company has a huge Christmas party and we get a ton of stuff. Fruit baskets and the like.

I’ve been stealing the bows and using them as our home Christmas Decor for the past 2 years. This is what we’ve accumulated so far:

The bulbs are from the center pieces on the table (I wasn’t the only one stealing them), and the bow and holly are from a fruit basket. I like this festive alternative to wreath on the door.

Our wreath is just some evergreen garland that I’ve had sine the first year of our marriage, used in one form or another. It’s tied together with another mega-bow from the gift that his company gave us last year.

Then comes the quality decor. This little ebony nativity set is hand carved from Africa. Our very good friend Eliza gave it to us as a wedding present. We cherish it. Hopefully we can find such a meaningful gift for her since she is tying the knot between Christmas and New Years.

And last in the post today is the Etsy submission of the day. All Wallace (named after my In-Laws dog) needs is his scarf, nose, and eyes and this little pup will be for sale. I hope he makes someone very happy.

Wallace is not being sold on etsy. My kids like him, and Olivia thinks he looks like a donkey.

I guess I’ll make a less donkey-like one today and post him.

    I love that nativity set!

We have a child’s-hands friendly set my mom got for us several years ago (it’s ceramic, but still child-friendly.) Baby Jesus is gone. So, we have all the figures huddled around a candle. Waiting for the Light of the world.

We also have a Playmobil nativity that comes out at T’s birthday (both T and C have birthdays around Thanksgiving.) Baby Jesus’ head came off a couple of years ago. Even supergluing didn’t work. So last year we bought it again, and have the “expanded version” with tons of shepherds and wisemen, a couple of Marys (one who ends up hanging with the shepherds) and only one baby Jesus.
